How To Measure

How to Measure Iron Doors: Sizing Guide

Before installation begins, it’s essential to measure your space accurately. Follow our sizing guide to ensure your door fits perfectly and installs smoothly. Measure the rough opening carefully, allowing the recommended 13 mm to 25 mm extra on both width and height.

If you’re unsure about any measurements, reach out to our team—we’re happy to assist you with your project.

Our door sizes are listed as the outer dimensions of the jamb, not the actual door slab.

For example, a door stamped as 183 cm × 206 cm means:

  • 183 cm total width from the outside of the jamb to the outside of the jamb
  • 206 cm total height from the top of the jamb to the bottom of the built‑in steel threshold

These are not the measurements of the door itself.

Recommended Rough Opening for Iron Door Installation

To ensure a proper fit and easy installation of your custom iron door:

  • Your rough opening width should be 13 mm to 25 mm wider than the width of the door size listed
  • Your rough opening height should be 13 mm to 25 mm taller than the height of the door size listed

This allows your installer enough space to level and secure the jamb properly, ensuring your iron door installation goes smoothly and fits perfectly.

Iron Door Features

Our doors are designed for durability and performance. They come with a standard jamb size of 51 mm × 152 mm and feature 14 mm iron bar scrollwork for an elegant, sturdy design. The double‑pane insulated tempered glass (5 mm + 9 mm air gap + 5 mm) offers superior thermal insulation and energy efficiency, making them ideal for both residential and commercial properties.

Each door includes essential hardware—flush bolts, weather strips, drop seals—to ensure a secure and weather‑tight fit. For enhanced performance, all tubes, kickplate, and threshold are injected with polystyrene foam. The threshold is also gently sloped to direct water away from the doorway, keeping your entrance dry and protected.
